Why is sustainable agriculture important to conservation?

Species extinctions are tightly linked to loss of habitat and the conversion of forests, marshes, grasslands and other natural habitats  to agriculture – much of unsustainable and almost all of it painfully inefficient.  Increasing sustainability and efficiency relieves pressure on wild places and helps maintain healthy resources.  There are many ways to make agriculture more sustainable and efficient and no matter where you are in the world there is a common  place to start…educate the farmer and educate the consumer.
