UNITED STATES: Aquaponics for Education and Sustainability
Aquaponics is a sustainable farming technique combining aquaculture and hydroponic farming. In this closed loop system fish waste provides nutrients for plants and the plants in turn clean the water making it safe for the fish. Aquaponics uses only 10% of the land and water required by traditional farming to produce the same amount of food. This highly versatile technique has the potential to change the way we farm across the globe.
